Pay range: $48,212.64 - $60,265.80

The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers.
Description of Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, organize and perform all supervisory related duties of the Commission’s Communications Department. This position performs staff training and scheduling to ensure that the required staffing levels and operational needs are met. Work involves setting goals, department directives and policies under the direction of the Chief of Police. Further, it is the responsibility of this position to ensure that all communications forwarded are accurately and expediently dispatched in an appropriate manner.
Required Experience:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required and at least 1 year of related experience preferred.
- Multi-channel radio system and multi-line phone system experience preferred.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of a 24-hour Emergency Communications Center environment including familiarity with a commercial airport environment and public safety related functions and concerns.
- Answer internal and external calls while delivering a professional level of customer service.
- Dispatch officers to emergency and non-emergency calls for police service such as TSA security screening alarms, access control alarms/incidents, disturbances, reports of thefts, and other incidents that may arise on Airport property in accordance with departmental policy.
- Dispatch ARFF (Fire) Department/Emergency Medical Technicians to emergency and non-emergency calls for service such as sick/injured persons, Airfield Alerts, Fire Alarms, Hazmat, and other emergency calls.
