About the job This position is needed to elevate our executive communications by transforming complex product strategies and technology architectures into clear, impactful visuals. As the Principal Communication Designer, you’ll craft presentations and visual stories that resonate with investors, customers, employees, and partners, strengthening our brand and supporting key strategic initiatives. Through creative storytelling, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our transformation narrative and driving alignment across the company’s most important audiences. Responsibilities In this role, you’ll: Develop and execute visual strategies that clearly convey complex ideas to a range of audiences, including investors, customers, employees, and partners. Collaborate closely with executives and product strategists to translate key messages, product architectures, and technology strategies into compelling presentations, visuals, and communication materials. Lead and mentor junior designers by setting high standards for design quality, consistency, and brand alignment, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence. Drive impactful storytelling initiatives that strengthen and evolve our brand narrative, helping shape and communicate our transformation to key audiences. Manage multiple high-priority projects independently, ensuring timely delivery and effective execution of visual assets across a range of channels. Identify and implement innovative design solutions that enhance visual storytelling, incorporate data visualization effectively, and keep our communication style fresh and engaging. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Visual Arts, Marketing, or a related field is required. 10+ years of experience in communication design, visual storytelling, or graphic design, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or principal role. Demonstrated experience working directly with executive or senior leadership teams to develop strategic presentations and communication materials. Proven track record of managing complex, high-stakes design projects independently and delivering impactful visual content. Design Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Presentation Tools: Expertise in PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides for high-quality, polished presentations. Data Visualization: Ability to simplify and visualize complex data to make information clear and engaging. Strategic Communication: Skilled in aligning design solutions with business and executive goals, translating ideas into clear, persuasive visuals. Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience partnering with C-level executives and cross-functional teams. Leadership and Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior designers, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust priorities and designs based on evolving needs and feedback from stakeholders. Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail in all design aspects, ensuring brand consistency and visual polish. Problem-Solving: Proactive, with a strong ability to anticipate challenges and find creative solutions. Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Master’s degree or advanced coursework in Design, Communication, or Business is a plus. Any specialized training in data visualization, storytelling, or digital media is an advantage. Additional Tools: Familiarity with tools like Sketch, or video editing/motion graphics software is a plus. Project Management: Experience with project management tools such as Airtable is preferred. Location This role will be remote but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas. Travel We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 10% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.
