Job Title: Communication Strategist – Intermediate
Position Type: Contingent upon contract award
Location: 1500 Army Pentagon, Washington DC 20310
Job Summary:
The contractor will serve as an Intermediate Communication Strategist, responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, creating media materials, and supporting outreach efforts. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and tactical execution to effectively communicate key messages to diverse audiences. The Communication Strategist will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of communication strategies with organizational goals, while also executing day-to-day communication tasks to support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Create and manage content for various media channels, including press releases, social media posts, blogs, and other communication materials.
- Execute communication campaigns, including tactical activities such as media outreach, event planning, and message development.
- Conduct media analysis and monitor public perception to ensure effective communication strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear and consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Provide media relations support, including drafting press materials, coordinating interviews, and maintaining relationships with key media contacts.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, adjusting tactics as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in strategic, tactical, and media communication roles.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with the ability to create compelling content for various audiences and platforms.
- Experience in managing media relations and outreach efforts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of communication tools, social media platforms, and media monitoring techniques.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Specialized Work Experience: 5 years of demonstrated strategic, tactical, and media communication experience within the last 10 years.
