Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist will be the steward of Synapse ITS' brand, ensuring quality and accuracy of published materials for our multi-channel strategy. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced changing environment is key to success. The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist will utilize their expertise in web content development, SEO optimization, infographics and research-driven storytelling to create impactful campaigns and drive business success. As a senior member of the team, this role will also be responsible for Synapse ITS corporate communications, promotional and training videos. Additionally, this role will develop and mentor other Marketing Communications Specialists in their work to support sales activities.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain product assets such as data sheets, web pages, presentation decks and work with external and internal resources to produce product videos.
  • Write and optimize website content to maximize SEO performance, improve traffic, and enhance user experience.
  • Oversee video production, from scripting to creation of graphics, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality output.
  • Working with the Digital Marketing Manager, conduct research and analyze data to inform marketing strategies and produce fact-based, engaging content to improve buyer journey and conversion.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate promotional content to facilitate in lead generation.
  • Design and create visually compelling infographics to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Coordinate requests and create assets for sales support such as regional product materials and value-add programs for our partner network, presentation decks, distributor programs, and CRM support.
  • Design and develop promotional event materials for tradeshows, conferences, and other.
  • Work with graphic designer to design brochures, web banners and other graphic materials for targeted audiences.
  • Develop engaging social media content.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of campaigns, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all content is on brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search, user experience and performance against key metrics.
  • Support with the development and relationship management with media outreach, such as newspapers.
  • Mentor a team of marketing communications professionals, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards and branding guidelines.
  • Assist with product marketing launch plans and go-to-market strategies by staying on top of marketing trends, bringing new ideas, tactics and strategies to the organization on a regular basis.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, and content marketing.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide, develop, and inspire direct reports.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities tailored to various audiences and platforms.
  • Proficiency in web content management systems (WordPress and HubSpot) and analytics tools.
  • Experience with video scripting and planning, and editing would be an asset.
  • Creativity and expertise in developing infographics and other visual content using design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach, with the willingness to take the initiative to find innovative solutions.
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, focused on supporting the growth of the organization rather than the final result.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; a combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in marketing communications, with demonstrated success in SEO and content strategy.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team, including performance evaluations and professional development.
  • Proven experience with and ability to develop and deepen content channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, blogs, and e-newsletters.
  • Experience working media relations and preparing professional engaging news releases is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience in web development, video production, content creation, and graphic design.
  • Experience with marketing analytics and the ability to report on campaign effectiveness.

Salary Description
