Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to partner with the Chief Corporate Affairs and Communications Officer to protect, enhance and promote the organization's reputation among key external stakeholders, including media, vendors customers. We are seeking an individual that can drive a thoughtful and proactive public relations program in partnership with agencies and internal partners. The senior manager will have experience and a point of view relative to the role of earned media in organizational planning, cross-channel storytelling, and values-led thought leadership. Frequent independent judgments are essential.

Responsibilities
- Identify and communicate compelling stories about Rite Aid to help educate key stakeholders, including the media and vendors, translating complex company initiatives into digestible, short content that ties back to the business and larger strategy. Deploy best practice in story creation to tell our story and highlight successes.
- Oversee development of media relations and corporate communications content, including press releases, talking points, key messages, statements and social content as relevant.
- Work with/support Chief of Communications to develop an executive thought leadership program, develop content for executive leadership, brainstorm, and develop executive media strategies and programs to drive positive media coverage.
- Serve in a leadership role on "inside/out" storytelling campaigns specific to employee stories/employer brand, in partnership with cross-functional partners.
- Conduct proactive media relations to properly position Rite Aid in key markets and publications.
- rovide communications support for Rite Aid Healthy Futures, a public charity affiliated with Rite Aid.
