Waldorf University, Forest City IA, is seeking qualified candidates for a Content Specialist in the Marketing Department. The Content Specialist will collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing to produce a variety of multimedia content, including, but not limited to, social media posts, newsletters, videos, press releases, and radio engagement. The role involves developing and managing Waldorf University's social media strategy to enhance brand visibility and marketing efforts, while also assisting with graphic design projects as needed.

Essential Job Tasks
  • Develop and edit press releases, marketing copy, social media posts, newsletters, videos, and other media as required.
  • Generate content for both internal and external audiences.
  • Strategize and set goals for content planning and marketing.
  • Monitor and manage university social media platforms.
  • Adapt messaging to suit specific target audiences effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to ensure all content aligns with brand standards (style, tone, and quality).
  • Maintain editorial calendars and adhere to deadlines.
  • Manage content and uphold the university's online presence and reputation.

Basic Requirements
  • Highly motivated with a passion for engaging with current and prospective students.
  • Keen attention to detail for creating and editing visual and written content.
  • Strong skills in photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Proficiency in video and photo editing.
  • Competency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to create content that appeals to diverse audiences, particularly students.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a command of English grammar.
  • Ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate text quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Familiarity with content marketing strategies and industry trends.

Work Environment

The Content Specialist will primarily work in a climate-controlled office setting located on campus. The role is largely sedentary at times involving frequent sitting, occasional walking, and light lifting. However, when covering events, the work environment will vary as some events (both indoor or outdoor), will require mobility to move about campus and in different venues, including climbing stairs. Regular use of near vision for reading and computer work is required. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate. Position will require flexible work schedules to accommodate University events taking place in the evening and on weekends.
