The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), founded in 1803, is Ohio's 3rd largest sheriff's office. HCSO has approximately 900 employees dedicated to ensuring the safety of nearly 1 million residents who call Hamilton County home.

At the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, we aim to recruit a high-quality, diverse group of candidates that reflect our community. We seek a motivated and creative Content Creator Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management and digital communication.

The ideal candidate will assist in developing and implementing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and analyzing performance metrics to enhance our online presence. The primary work location will be the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office at 1000 Sycamore St, Rm 110, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. Occasional remote opportunities will also be available.

This role works with employees located in downtown Cincinnati and other Sheriff's Office locations throughout Hamilton County. No relocation assistance is offered.

Starting Hourly Rate: $20.00/hr

Job Duties:

  • Assist in managing and scheduling posts across various social media platforms.
  • Create visually appealing graphics and multimedia content.
  • Draft SEO-optimized blog posts on relevant content for internal and external consumption.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to develop campaigns that resonate with our intended audience.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and foster relationships with our online community.
  • Proofread and edit content for clarity, grammar, and adherence to brand guidelines before publication.
  • Capture, create, and edit high-quality photographs and videos for use in social media or other communication materials.
  • Analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in social media management tools.
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing software.
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles to enhance content visibility.
  • Strong graphic design skills to create engaging visuals for various platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to interact effectively with followers and stakeholders.
  • Strong proofreading abilities to ensure high-quality content delivery.

Requirements:

  • Active enrollment in a degree program in Communications, Creative Media, Digital Media Arts, Digital Media Production, Digital Visualization and Communication, Television Production, or a related business program.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the duration of the internship session and possibly longer
  • Experience editing raw video footage into completed videos.
  • Experience with capturing, creating, and editing high-quality photographs and videos for social media or other communication materials.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Strong analytical, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • May be required to carry a cell phone.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the state of residency.
