The role
We are seeking a creative, motivated Social Media & Content Intern to support our social media strategy and content creation efforts. This part-time role is perfect for someone passionate about social media, video production, and storytelling. You will assist in creating and publishing content across platforms, driving audience engagement, and helping build our brand presence.
This is a part-time, hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. In-person work is required at least twice a week, depending on the program schedule. In-person work will include travel to the office and around the Bay Area. You must live in the San Francisco Bay Area to be considered for this role.
Hours
- Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, some flexibility required
- 25 hours/week
Content Creation & Strategy
- Assist in developing and maintaining a social media content calendar.
- Create, shoot, and edit engaging content, including videos, reels, stories, and graphics.
- Help craft narratives that highlight our programs, impact stories, and student achievements.
- Stay updated on social media trends and suggest new content ideas.
Social Media Management
- Help manage Mission Bit’s presence on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Engage with the online community by responding to comments and messages.
- Support strategies to increase followers, engagement, and community participation.
Graphic Design & Asset Creation
- Assist in designing on-brand graphics and marketing assets for campaigns and events.
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms.
Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and video views.
- Support the creation of reports with insights to improve future content.
Collaboration & Partnerships
- Collaborate with internal teams on messaging and campaign coordination.
- Support the organization with other marketing-related tasks.
Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Familiarity with social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn.
- Basic knowledge of video editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar) and design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
- A creative mindset with a passion for social media and digital storytelling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Compensation
This is a part-time position, offering 25 hours per week, with a pay range of $22-$24 per hour.
