SOSO is looking for a creative developer to join our multidisciplinary studio. The ideal candidate is a strong, detail-oriented developer interested in visual arts and design.

As a creative developer, you will contribute to the design and software development of award-winning digital installations and products for various clients across industries. You will be working closely with a team of graphic designers, architects, and project managers at all phases, from concept to installation. Your work involves technology exploration, prototyping, technical specification, and end-to-end software development.

As a Creative Developer at SOSO you will:

  • Build production-level graphics and related software with a team of developers, designers, and project managers.
  • Write, test, and document code in a variety of languages and formats including Vue, TypeScript, WebGL, and GLSL.
  • Plan system architecture and software specifications.
  • Rapid prototyping of graphical ideas.
  • Prototyping motion systems.

Requirements:

  • Passion for getting the details right, but also an ability to see how those details fit into the big picture.
  • Ability to understand projects at multiple scales. You can zoom in to the details and zoom out to see how the pieces fit together.
  • Organized, detail-oriented approach to solving problems. You’re systematic and know how to retrace your steps.
  • Willingness to experiment and prototype. You’re comfortable with uncertainty.
  • Clear, respectful communication skills. You let your team know your progress and needs.
  • Self-directed contributor. You look for ways to help out and have strong time-management skills.
  • Strategic thinking around technology choices. You’re excited to try new things but understand the value of time-worn methods.
  • Experience in UI/UX or graphic design.
  • Physical computing, hardware, Arduino, RaspberryPi.
  • LED lighting and stage lighting controls such as DMX and ArtNet.
  • Architectural or physical installation experience.
