YOUR ROLE: Operates as a vision-led, next-gen marketing leader. Understands, has mastered, and evangelizes modern design methodology including component-based design systems which deliver reusable, responsive content into market. Recognizes the importance of data to drive creative personal experiences that touch hearts, change minds, and drive action in a complex digital ecosystem. Provides inspirational leadership and driving force for the Creative department through professional expertise, interpersonal skills, and high performance behaviors. Pushes the boundaries of creative excellence, builds effective client relationships, and ensures delivery of desired results. Provides direction, support, and development opportunities to help team members realize their potential. Contributes to the achievement of agency client satisfaction, financial, and strategic business objectives in accordance with agency values. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in company strategic planning, decision-making, and leadership at a senior level. Influences relationships with key clients, business partners, group companies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Ensures the accomplishment of key agency business goals and objectives. Manages the operations, activities, and financial results for a department or key specialist area. Directs the allocation of resources required to deliver optimum results. Ensures the integration of services with other departments and the agency's primary functions. Provides for the recruitment, retention, and development of direct reports, including other managers, and determines their qualifications and competence. Builds cohesive, effective work teams and provides support, coaching, and feedback for members. Supervises the assessment and improvement of the department or team's performance. Serves as champion and role model for living the values. Represents the company at industry events and public service activities, networks with senior clients and business leaders, and raises the profile of the agency. Ultimate responsibility for ensuring creative quality and output of the department. Inspires and motivates staff to produce outstanding work. Manages and works closely with creative directors. Responsible for the achievement of creative awards. Takes creative ownership for the development of new business. Responsible for producing individual creative work. Promotes understanding of Creative department throughout the agency so that services can be effectively marketed to clients. Interacts closely with clients to determine their needs, keep them informed about progress, resolve their concerns, and help them better understand Creative. Ensures the financial output and profitability of the Creative department. Serves as primary liaison between Creative and departments such as Strategy, Account Management, Project Management, Technology, Marketing Sciences, Studio, and Production ensuring effective teamwork, collaboration, and delivery of results. Leads efforts to improve product quality, client satisfaction, staff retention, and business results. Stays current with changes in technology and demonstrates technical competence with the latest platforms, media channels, and production development and deployment techniques. Pursues continuing education to develop professional expertise and skills. Attends professional conferences, takes advantage of networking opportunities, and researches best practices. Responsible for supporting new business initiatives when requested. REQUIRED SKILLS: Minimum of 15+ years marketing/advertising industry experience. Previous management experience is a must. Capable of presenting ideas/opinions with confidence. Highly developed interpersonal, team building, and relationship management skills. Ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly and effectively. Ability to select, develop, and retain staff. Creativity, drive, and enthusiasm. Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate others. Exercises discretion when making decisions with organizational impact. Grasps the importance of teamwork and building rapport with other departments. Recognizes the importance of working to a professional standard. Understands how to express self clearly and organize ideas well. Experience working within an Integrated Agency Team is a plus. This range is specific to Chicago and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications, etc. This is an exempt position.
