As the Director of EDG Creative at Environmental Design Group, you will lead, manage, and grow our Creative and Communications Client Service Group. The EDG Creative team provides branding, marketing, graphic design, writing, communication, and public engagement services to internal and external clients. This role will oversee the development and execution of creative strategies, ensure alignment with business objectives, and elevate the Environmental Design Group brand through innovative and effective communication strategies.

The Director of EDG Creative will collaborate closely with leadership, clients, and team members to ensure the group delivers impactful solutions while fostering a positive, innovative, and collaborative work environment.

The following core responsibilities are essential to the Director of EDG Creative position:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and business plan for the EDG Creative group.
  • Partner with other directors and leadership to identify opportunities for expanding creative services within the firm’s offerings.
  • Oversee creative strategies and project execution to meet client needs, support firm objectives, enhance brand recognition, and enhance the client experience.
  • Drive revenue growth and achieve financial targets for the group.
  • Analyze industry trends to position EDG Creative as a leader in innovative marketing strategies.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of creative, marketing, and communications professionals.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of creatives, including graphic designers, writers, and communication specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and creativity.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations, quality standards, and project goals.
  • Establish technical protocols, maintain consistency in creative outputs, and innovate processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Lead the group's business development efforts, including building client relationships, pursuing projects, and developing proposals.
  • Represent EDG Creative at networking events, trade shows, and industry conferences to expand visibility and opportunities.
  • Partner with other service groups to create integrated solutions and cross-disciplinary opportunities.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the EDG Creative group.
  • Monitor financial performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Allocate resources effectively to optimize performance and client satisfaction.
  • Guide the evolution of the EDG Creative brand through creative campaigns and marketing strategies.
  • Oversee internal and external marketing efforts for EDG Creative.
  • Identify decision-makers, influencers, leaders, and resources that affect project selection.
  • Develop a sustainable pipeline and backlog to meet Service Group revenue goals.
  • Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned for the organization’s best interest.


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in creative services, marketing, or communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience with proven success managing creative teams and delivering high-quality, client focused solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring established client relationships or a proven track record of developing new business opportunities is strongly desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills in a team-oriented environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Occasional evening work may be required as job duties demand. A hybrid option is available for this position.


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that will enable the employee to be insurable under the Company's standard vehicle and general comprehensive liability insurance without additional costs.
