As part of the Sales & Marketing team, you’ll help us solve challenges and succeed as you grow and understand the unique needs of our clients and tailor easy-to-use solutions to deliver the performance they need.
With a position in Sales & Marketing, you’ll strengthen our relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and think outside the box to unlock new possibilities.
Position Overview
This role combines leadership, strategic thinking, and hands-on writing, requiring a candidate who can craft compelling copy while mentoring and managing a small but mighty team. You’ll work to build Paylocity’s copywriting function, acting as a champion and steward of our brand voice while partnering with and enabling content creators across the organization. Together, you will ensure Paylocity’s voice is consistent, engaging, and resonates with our target audience across all touchpoints.

Develop and maintain Paylocity’s brand voice and messaging guidelines, ensuring consistency across all communications.

Lead, inspire, and mentor the copywriting team, fostering creativity and professional growth.

Lead the development of a robust editorial/style guide, as well as brand voice enablement for content contributors across the organization.

Personally contribute to writing high-impact copy for a variety of projects, including, but not limited to, assets for marketing campaigns, web content, long-form articles, scripts, and sales enablement materials.

Collaborate closely with the Head of Design to ensure visual and verbal elements work seamlessly together.

Partner with stakeholders in marketing, product, and other departments to deliver clear, compelling messaging that drives business results.

Review, edit, and proofread copy to ensure it meets brand standards, is free of errors, and is optimized for audience engagement.

Monitor creative content performance metrics and apply insights to refine and improve future efforts.

Help identify and implement the correct AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.

7+ years of professional copywriting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of copy formats.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines for self and team in a fast-paced environment.

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
