Job Description

Upright Citizens Brigade is seeking a creative and dynamic Social Media Creator/Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in building and growing our audience, driving patrons to our performances, and attracting students to our training center.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management

Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with our UCB's goals

Create engaging, original content tailored for various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube

Produce and edit video clips from improv shows for social media promotion

Create unique behind-the-scenes content to showcase our culture and people

Develop viral trend videos that align with current social media trends and our brand

Manage a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posts

Showcase our performances, classes, and unique improv culture through compelling storytelling

Audience Growth and Engagement

Grow and nurture our online community by attracting new followers and retaining existing ones

Engage with our audience by promptly responding to comments, messages, and mentions

Develop and implement strategies to increase audience interaction and participation

Monitor online conversations and represent the UCB's voice in social media spaces

Campaign Management

Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote upcoming shows, workshops, and special events

Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels

Develop creative social media initiatives to capture audience attention and drive engagement

Analytics and Reporting

Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools

Prepare regular reports on social media metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement

Track the impact of social media efforts on ticket sales and class registrations

Collaboration and Strategy

Work closely with other departments including Marketing, Box Office, and the Production Team

Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices

Contribute to the overall marketing strategy to drive patrons to UCB shows and students to the training center

Qualifications

Proven experience in social media management, preferably in the entertainment sector

Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices

Excellent writing and communication skills

Creativity and a keen eye for visual content

Experience with video editing and graphic design software

Proficiency in creating short-form video content for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels

Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics tools

Familiarity with SEO principles and content marketing

Knowledge of improv theater or performing arts is required

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for live event coverage

Personal Qualities:

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively

Self-motivated with excellent time management skills

Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment

Ability to think on your feet and create content quickly, mirroring the spontaneity of improv
