Job Title: Design Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and creative Design Technician to join our design team. In this role, you will support the team in creating technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction or engineering projects. Responsibilities include utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software, collaborating with architects and engineers, and assisting in project coordination. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of design principles, proficiency in relevant software, and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the design team to create detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction or manufacturing projects.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop 2D and 3D models and prototypes of product designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Assist in the development and modification of design concepts based on specifications, customer feedback, and design guidelines.
  • Conduct research and gather technical information to support the design process, including materials, manufacturing methods, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and quality control guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and production personnel, to ensure design feasibility and resolve any design-related issues. Perform product testing and analysis to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and performance requirements.
  • Maintain and update design files, drawings, and documentation in an organized manner to facilitate easy retrieval and version control.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in design technology and software tools.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of design processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Design Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating and modifying technical designs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to resolve design-related challenges. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
