Reports to: Executive Vice President of APC Operations

Position Location: LDX Solutions' Kennesaw, GA. office

Position Overview:

The CAD Design Manager will be responsible for the Mechanical Design department which creates all design drawings for LDX Solutions' projects. The position will have direct responsibility for a team of designers that create the design and manufacturing drawings in Autodesk Inventor. The position is also responsible for enforcement of CAD and design standards and the completion of consistent, high-quality drawings by the Design Engineers within designated deadlines.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee team of Design Engineers to create equipment design drawings for LDX equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce 3D modeling and design standards for equipment to ensure consistency and allow easy transfer of workload between members of the Design team.
  • Work with Project Managers to help develop the design schedule for project work and schedule internal design resources to meet the project deliverables.
  • Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud and other data analysis tools to gather and analyze project data, ensuring accurate reporting on project progress, productivity, and adherence to standards.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor CAD professionals/Designers.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams of mechanical design, electrical design, and process engineering to understand project requirements and provide CAD support.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure CAD resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for CAD users to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in CAD technology and adapt and implement standards as programs change. Evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies that align with the Company's needs.


Qualifications

Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD.
  • Exposure to Plant 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud a plus.
  • Exposure to Solidworks a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Focused and efficient with time management and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in a professional environment.
  • Design and field experience with heavy industrial equipment is a plus.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a 3D CAD with at least 2 years in a lead role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Project based business experience is a plus.

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel to business unit sites or training opportunities (less than 10%).
