Summary of Primary Functions: Prepares shop tickets for various pre-cast structures using 3-D modeling software and support the design team on a variety of projects and the day-to-day functions as it relates to design and fabrication. Prepares erection drawings using 3-D modeling software under the supervision of the Chief Designer or Design Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.
Reads and plots erection details and drawings using 3-D modeling software.
Creates shop cards by utilizing 3-D modeling programs, such as SolidWorks, and ensures drawings conform to standard detailing.
Presents scrubbed shop cards to Project Lead for their verification of correctness
Scrubs red-lines from Project Lead check prints.
Details Steel Cards from sketches or markups provided by Project Designers or Design Engineers using 3-D modeling software.
May have access to confidential information.
Makes independent decisions pertaining to interpretation and rendering of drawings.
Has daily contact with fellow employees in other units in the company, top management, customers, vendors/suppliers.
Job Specifications or Qualifications:
Certificates, Licenses, Registration : training and/or certification in SolidWorks/StructureWorks.
Education: Design/ Drafting related Associate's Degree (2 year) is prefered.
Experience : Related work experience may considered in lieu of a degree. Some previous design/drafting experience is a preferred.
