Overview :
The Graphic Designer (GD) provides design services for the in-house agency. The GD is responsible for supporting the design leader in developing and producing Tier 2 & 3 digital- and print-based marketing collateral and internal communications materials for clients. The GD must exhibit competent design skills in achieving the highest possible standards for all materials requiring design in assigned projects and tasks. This role must exhibit basic knowledge of clients’ business challenges to execute design requests.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and manage Tier 2 & 3 marketing materials from start to finish
• Develop initial rough layouts or mock-ups for creative review with senior graphic designer and art director
• Provide design support for assigned client group(s), as well as supporting projects from other clients as demand and scheduling requires
• Collaborate with writing team as needed for specific project objectives
• Collaborate with art director as needed for design support and professional insights
• Produce and be accountable for the final development of creative assets ensuring accuracy, attention to detail and that the project meets or exceeds the design objectives
• Ensure brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions
• Partner with the art director and account team to achieve effective and efficient outcomes
• Engage with the art director in account/client meetings when applicable
• Work directly with account team as dictated by the scope of the project
• Respond to all requests and communications in a timely and thorough manner
• Work to improve the team’s overall performance and embrace a collaborative approach
• Actively seek teammates for their input and insights on developing projects
• Support leadership in helping to build a unified team mindset
• Engage in professional development to continuously grow and remain competitive with outside services
• Provide open and honest feedback to supporting team members with the goal of striving to be the best
• Respectfully question direction from the senior graphic designer or art director to help clarify strategies or fill information gaps
• Review the briefs to ensure a full understanding of the objectives
• Work with some direction from senior graphic designer or art director and can be counted on for accuracy
• Seek appropriate support from other designers to help develop assets for specific projects
• Support and demonstrate corporate brand knowledge
• Be an ambassador for the marketing department objectives and point of view on corporate brand and its visual identity
Skills And Knowledge Required
• Expertise of design techniques, skills, tools and procedures for the applicable media
• Proficient expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign and Acrobat. Adobe certification a plus
• Intermediate expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop and quality control practices
• Proficient expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint – slide design and presentation best practices
• Sound understanding of MS Office
• Proficient expertise in wire framing and prototyping (Adobe XD a plus)
• Understanding of design applications in traditional channels
• Understanding of design applications in digital channels
• Ability to project manage/traffic personal workload
• Excellent design, production and prepress skills
• Excellent design, production and file preparation skills for handoff to developer
• Ability to write and speak effectively and clearly communicate with peers, leadership team and clients
• States opinions clearly and can verbally describe visual concepts
• Does not create an adverse (us vs. them) mentality regarding client/creative points of view
• Eager to share designs with team early in the process to gain alignment on execution strategy
• Leverages data and trends in the competitive landscape to inform the design process
• Pragmatic with creative executions always keeping eye on the objectives of the assignment

Education/Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in graphic design or related field
• Minimum of three years of professional-level experience required in creative/graphic design within an external or in-house agency
• Portfolio required
• Adobe InDesign Certification a plus
