Position Summary
We have an opportunity to grow and develop your career through exposure to multiple aspects of project development of roadway projects. The Designer is a skilled position in the Roadway group You will work on various assignments alongside Project Engineers and Project Managers to complete drafting and design tasks.
In this role, the Designer will assist in:
development of design plans for projects of varying complexity, ranging from pavement overlays to roundabout design
Various design tasks for roadway design projects.
Development of 3D CAD models for roadway corridors and utility layout as needed.
Performing project quantity calculations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Design - under supervision of a Project Manager
Preparation of engineering drawings utilizing the current versions of AutoCAD and add-on design suites such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Preparation of engineering drawings utilizing the current and previous versions of Microstation, Inroads, and Open Roads.
Contribute to timely completion of drawings and drawing update tasks daily; including CAD Production, CAD Operation and/or CAD QA/QC.
Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
Maintain up to date working and technical knowledge of all procedural and improvement changes to drafting computer hardware and software applications.
Manage client/sub-consultant CAD coordination issues.
Help to standardize internal CAD processes and plan aesthetics.

This is a full-time position with a base salary that ranges between $63,000 - $70,000 per year. In addition to salary, you are eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and PTO.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma and specific training in CAD software
- 4 years of experience in CAD design
- Knowledge of computer software for office and operational functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software and MicroStation software.
- Experience in plotter configurations, page setups and plot styles.
