The Senior Designer is responsible for developing design and technical solutions from start to finish of a project under the supervision of our Creative Manager. The Senior Designer will work on multiple projects simultaneously and undertake research, ideation, and production, collaborating with cross-functional peers to find solutions. They will develop and maintain trusting relationships, presenting design work at multiple project phases.

What you will need:
- Design— Inventive, creative design skills and solutions based on experience. Presents multiple solutions for internal and external review. Fully understands project objectives and goals before proceeding with design implementation. Develops creative design and technical solutions.
- Production— Passionate; takes the initiative and performs assignments with great attention to detail. Works effectively with good time management skills. Technical proficiency and effectiveness are requirements in this position.
- Relationships— Excellent written and oral communication. Positive attitude and problem-solving mentalities go a long way at Kalkomey. Provides meaningful feedback to colleagues and aims to boost morale to those around them. Models Kalkomey’s values and vision.
- Critical Thinking— Strategic and analytical. Skilled at framing problems and solutions.
- Research the overall needs, positioning, editorial direction and strategies of the brand.
- Understanding our competitive environment and critical business objectives.
- Forecast the scope of work, timeline, and staff hours it will take to deliver the project.
- Develop initial brand concepts and design Guidelines for the project.
- Actively participate in internal creative brainstorming sessions.
- Participate in meetings and present concepts and designs
- Produce mid- to large-scale projects from brief to final design, including:
- Detailed brand/visual identity including logo and icon design, color palettes, font selection and/or design of unique typography, image selection;
- Brand guidelines, “kit of parts” and collateral design and production files;
- Concept pitches to share a vision before production;
- Digital, print, and experiential layouts.
- Maintain expertise in the latest design and production software (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Adapt to industry trends by learning new programs and remain fluent in essential web tools.
- Serve colleagues by assisting with research, providing meaningful feedback, identifying creative solutions, and giving general design advice as needed.
- Support KE Design’s overall culture, values, and mission.
- BA, BFA, or equivalent experience in design, fine art, or related subject
- 5+ years working in a creative agency
- 3D design and animation a plus
- Outdoor industry experience is a plus
- Kalkomey brand identity refresh
- Product launch marketing materials and landing page experience support
