Bernette Textile Company LLC is seeking a talented and versatile Associate Designer to support both our Womenswear and Menswear design teams. This dual-focused role offers a unique opportunity to work across gender categories while developing core design skills under the mentorship of experienced designers. Key Responsibilities Assist Designers in the development of seasonal collections for both womenswear and menswear Create detailed technical sketches and specification packages using Adobe Creative Suite Research fashion trends, fabric innovations, and competitor products Prepare and maintain design presentation materials Support the design team in seasonal color, fabric, and trim selection Assist in fitting sessions and provide detailed notes Create and update tech packs and line lists Regular interaction with cross-functional teams Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field 2-3 years of experience in apparel design Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Excel Strong technical sketching abilities Understanding of garment construction and production processes Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication skills to work effectively across teams Required Skills & Competencies Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong attention to detail and accuracy Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach Adaptability to switch between different aesthetic directions Creative problem-solving abilities Candidates must include online portfolios or digital examples of their work along with their resumes Monday to Thursday on-site in NYC, remote on Friday
