Designer (Lead) Your Creative Process: As a Lead Designer at Acrylicize, you will be contributing to and leading in the execution of projects from inception through to production, working closely with the wider Design Team, Project Managers, Production Team and fabrication partners. You'll consistently demonstrate strong creative thinking and have experience producing work for a 3D and branded environment creating art installations. This role provides invaluable experience and creative grounding to the entire Acrylicize creative process. You will ideally have a solid background in environmental installations, spatial design, product design, or sculpture. Previous experience in environmental graphic design is crucial and we'd love to see examples of these projects and your creative process in your portfolio. Our Creative Process: Phase 1: Discover - Understanding the brief, the client and the space. Researching themes and narratives to inspire the designs. Phase 2: Design - Creating concepts derived from the chosen theme for the space. We call these idea cards, they are loose, sketchy and conceptual. The chosen ideas are then refined further. Phase 3: Develop - Developing the chosen ideas, considering materiality and creating fully formed designs ready to be artworked, fabricated and installed. Phase 4: Detail (Production Team) Phase 5: Deliver (PM Team) Main Responsibilities and Skills Conceptual Ability to generate a diverse range of ideas, independently as well as in the facilitation of others Confident in articulating the narrative and form of an idea, verbally, on paper, and in situ The knowledge and experience to make an idea achievable Lead in the interpretation and discussion of briefs with both the client and the internal project team Craft & Aesthetics Have an eye for great design and an excellent attention to detail Wide knowledge and range in ability for different styles and aesthetics Understand the studio's style and lead in the act of applying it in an intelligent and useful way for each project Leadership Lead and oversee up to 6 projects at once of various sizes and programmes Effective line management of Junior and Senior creatives Provide facilitation to all designers to brainstorm and build on creative ideas to present to Directors, clients, and each other Take leadership in managing the clients creative expectations and concerns Work alongside Project Manager to estimate design time for design intent and flag any issues with design time and resourcing for team Lead in communication with HR, Operations, Global Creative Director, and other senior members of the team Required Skills Proven experience guiding and mentoring fellow designers to achieve an excellent outcome A degree in Graphic Design or equivalent 5+ years experience in a related role Management experience Excellent presentation and communication skills Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator The ability to travel to clients' sites as required Attention to detail The ability to demonstrate critical thinking The ability to meet deadlines under pressure Excellent team player attitude A bit about our benefits...
