Peraton is seeking an Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer will support the DOD/DISA Training Academy (TA). The TA provides mission-critical technical and operational specialty training in support of, Senior Executive Leadership and their support staff. The instructional support includes onsite and virtual training as well as e-Learning development for personnel to successfully execute the communications mission for the Executive Leadership.
Personnel are trained in various leadership communications activities/processes/procedures, information technology, audio visual technology, and communications capabilities to deliver critical and varied communications supporting the Executive Leadership.
The Instructional Designer responsibilities include:
- Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development and update curricula.
- Interview subject matter experts or conduct other research to develop instructional content.
- Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options.
- Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, and courseware standards and obtain client approval.
- Develop instructional, learning, and performance objectives.
- Develop instructional materials and products (Instructor Guides, Student Guides, student exercises and activities, and assessments) for instructor-led and online courses for adult learners on a government site.
- Design instructional aids for stand-alone, instructor-led classroom, or online use.
- Assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction according to ease of instructional technology use and student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction. Review student feedback surveys and develop and implement course improvements to address feedback.
- Review existing instructor-led curriculum materials and recommend content to be transitioned to a blended-learning delivery method.
- Plan, design, develop, and implement online courses and training videos for hosting on the customer network or a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Train and mentor instructor staff on instructional strategies and methodologies, course delivery techniques, and assessment validation.
- Review, maintain and update training and curriculum development SOPs.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD, 12 years of with HS
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field, Military Instructor certification or the ability to obtain an industry instructional design certification (Modern Classroom Certified Trainer).
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and PSD access.
- Knowledge of the ADDIE (or SAM or SAT) model instructional design methodology
- Demonstrated experience using one or more course authoring tools (such as Adobe Captivate, Premier Elements, Camtasia, Articulate, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently. Be able to collaborate with teammates, government officials and stakeholders.
PREFERED SKILLS:
- Preferred Experience with Multimedia Development: Skills in graphic design, video editing, and multimedia production.

Target Salary Range:
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
