Title:
Mechanical Designer
Under direct supervision, you will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within mechanical design, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
This position is located on a large chemical site in Buffalo, NY. No Per Diem will be offered.
Requirements/Qualifications
Proficiency Proficient in MicroStation or Autocad, Adobe Standard, and Microsoft Office Suite application.
Knowledge and experience with 3D (SolidWorks, SolidEdge, etc...) is preferred
2-5 years related design experience
Design and field experience in chemical or petrochemical plants is a plus
Familiarity with Dupont Piping design symbology, practices and standards is a
plus
Previous DuPont experience preferred but not required
Strong communication skills required.
· Experience in Microsoft Office Suite is required
· Strong administrative and organizational skills
· Demonstrated ability to work in a professional engineering or construction environment
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremes
Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc
Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs
May require walking the project property
