Plumbing Designer

Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the design of plumbing and piping systems for buildings, sites or structures for a variety of projects such as manufacturing, laboratories, restrooms, kitchens, HVAC condensate, and large commercial facilities.
- Preparation of construction drawings detailing the system, including but not limited to plumbing schedules, floor plans, enlarged plans, details and riser diagrams.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplines to deliver project designs to meet project requirements and timelines.
- System design calculations, code analysis. equipment and pipe sizing.
- Attend meetings and communicate with factory engineers, facilities and construction teams on their needs and discuss design issues with them.
- Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.
- Construction administration activities, including but not limited to on-site surveys, review and respond to contractor submittals and RFIs; troubleshooting construction issues, and as-builting.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of plumbing engineering fundamentals, principles, practices, and design/build process.
- Familiarity with codes and standards, specifically IPC, IBC, IFC, IFGC, ASPE standards, and NFPA.
- 5- 10 years' experience in the design and specification of plumbing systems.
- Experience designing a variety of building types which may include hospitals, laboratories, manufacturing, food production and commercial buildings.
- Ability to utilize computer software to develop design drawings and 3D model of plumbing and piping systems.
- Ability to deliver quality work by project deadline within given timeline.
- Good communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
- Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges and work on new systems..
- Required Qualifications:
- Familiar with Plumbing design guidelines, standards, and code of practice.
- Self-motivated, flexible and proactive individual who is capable to work in multi-cultural dynamic environment.
- Be adaptable and able to work independently coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Revit Drafting Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Design Experience
- Site Utility Planning and Design Experience
- Track record of sustainable and innovative approach to design
- Experience designing systems such as rainwater collection, water re-use systems, vacuum sanitary and siphonic storm drainage
