The Graphic Design job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, animations, basic video editing and photos. They will collaborate with the marketing, sales, entertainment and other departments throughout the organization to shape the visual aspects of our websites, printed materials, social media, digital advertising assets, video board and other branded materials.
The content that is created should capture the attention of those targeted audiences (baseball fans, families, groups and seniors) and communicate to fans of the DockHounds and those attending WBC Park events as to why we are a perfect fit for their entertainment needs. For this, the designer will need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. They will need to communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, focusing on the organizations COHR (Collaboration, Ownership, High-Performing, Resourcefulness) values.
The goal of the graphic design member is to inspire and attract the target audience, get them excited about the focused subject and to lead viewers to engage and take action.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and two to three years of experience in event presentation/game operations/live events. Prior graphic design and animation experience is preferred. A successful candidate should showcase excellent communication skills with the ability to have effective and frequent dialogue with prospects, fans, corporate partners and account managers.
Computer Skills
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Responsibilities
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Schedule projects and define budget constraints
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
- Use DockHounds branded colors and layouts per approved brand guidelines for each graphic
- Work with copywriters and Director of Marketing to produce final designs
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Assist potential interns with advancement of their skills while maintaining visual brand accuracy
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven graphic design experience
- A strong portfolio of illustrations, animations or other graphics
- Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
