Job Overview:
As a CAD Designer at Majestic Developers, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and designs using CAD software for land development and construction projects. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that designs align with project goals and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- CAD Standards Setup: Establish and maintain CAD standards for project design, specifically within AutoCAD Civil 3D, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality in deliverables. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and draft plans for single-family residential projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, local regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Site Grading, Drainage, and Utility Plans: Prepare detailed plans for site grading, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
- Collaboration and Meetings: Actively collaborate with team members, including engineers, contractors, and junior CAD drafters. Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss progress, issues, and design solutions.
- Site Visits and Survey Reviews: Conduct on-site visits and review survey data to gather accurate and necessary information for design development and adjustments.
- Feasibility Review: Work closely with engineers, junior CAD drafters, and contractors to ensure that designs are feasible and aligned with construction and budget constraints.
- Industry Trends and Design Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in the design and engineering industry, incorporating them into designs to maintain project innovation and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance: Review designs for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Local Travel: The position may require some local travel for site visits, meetings, and inspections.
Skills and Specifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in AutoCAD or related CAD software preferred.
Experience:
- 4-5 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in land development or construction.
- Experience working on residential or commercial projects is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Green card or U.S. citizenship is required.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and building information modeling (BIM) is a plus.
