Job Title: PCB Designer

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Electrical Design Engineer who specializes in PCB design. This role involves effective inter-departmental collaboration, product integration testing, and technical support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and release of high-quality embedded systems for production.
Responsibilities
  • Design high-speed PCB backplanes and auxiliary PCBs to support overall products and systems.
  • Analyze data to determine the feasibility of product proposals.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawing packages to support new and existing PCB designs.
  • Prepare and maintain power and thermal budgets.
  • Design cable harnesses to interconnect electronic components within the chassis.
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs related to chassis prototypes.
  • Analyze overall design criteria, drawings, and test results to ensure designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Evaluate and identify elements of previous designs for reuse or improvements.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to formulate and test electronic designs.
  • Support production and quality departments during first-time design builds.
  • Participate in customer design reviews and support weekly client calls during the developmental phase.
Qualifications

•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree
•5+ years PCB design experience (16-32 layers preferred); 'cradle to grave' (schematics through layout) preferred; experience with VPX architecture preferred
•Design experience with Mentor Graphics Pads and/or Expedition Suite
•Experience designing PCBs for military applications; knowledge of MIL-STD 461 preferred
•Ability to mentor Jr. engineers and teaching advanced Electrical Engineering topics
•Mastery with common bench test instruments such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, and function generator. Competence with a soldering iron is desirable to be able to fabricate simple test fixtures and experimental circuits.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $72.00
