About the role
The Associate Designer acts as a liaison between the design, merchandising and product development teams while supporting the Design Development Manager/Design Director with seasonal development. The associate will be responsible for ensuring that the Director's aesthetic design, color inspiration, print direction and trims are translated into production ready standards. Supports the Product Life Cycle (PLC) to ensure the product integrity standards, quality, on time delivery and best business practices are achieved. Demonstrates a passion for the business and champions the company's values by maintaining effective collaborative relationships.

About the role

Supports the Product Life Cycle (PLC) to ensure the product integrity standards, quality, on time delivery and best business practices are achieved. Demonstrates a passion for the business and champions the company's values by maintaining effective collaborative relationships.
The impact you can have
- Partners with Manager/Director in researching/identifying seasonal trend direction and merchandise trends
- Responsible for creating and presenting seasonal trend analysis
- Creates and maintains sketches for all styles within specific departments of ownership
- Responsible for maintaining design fields within BBR tech packs for all styles within categories of ownership
- Responsible for partnering with tech, merch, and sourcing team during fittings to ensure each style's original design intent is preserved and problem solve any issues that may arise
- Partners with the CAD team to pass print development packages to partners overseas, including cad/technical/technique requirements and placement on the garment.
- Responsible for partnering with sourcing to develop all design trims needed for styles within categories of ownership
- Accountable for communicating all approvals and changes post line review
- Receive and make comments/approvals on trims in a timely manner for bulk orders
- Accountable for making timely approvals/comments on strike-offs, embroideries, handlooms and yarn dyes including technical color comments
- Adhere to PLC calendar and deadlines
You'll bring to the role
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study preferred, and a minimum 3-4 years of experience.
- Experience with giving technical color comments
- Must possess a brand appropriate design aesthetic
- Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft excel, word, outlook, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to sketch by hand or using Procreate
- Ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment.

- The target salary range for this role is: $65,000 - $68,000*
