Manage social media platforms for the Sheriff's Office
**Some weekday after-hour and weekend work may be required**


We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, a passion for visual storytelling, and the ability to bring innovative ideas to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop creative concepts and design solutions that align with brand guidelines and project objectives
  • Maintain social media pages across multiple platforms with real time, dynamic content
  • Create a wide range of design materials, including:
    • Digital graphics (social media graphics, web banners, email templates)
    • Print materials (brochures, flyers, posters, business cards)
    • User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design
  • Use strong visual communication skills to convey messages effectively
  • Work closely with the Communications Team and other teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs
  • Be proficient in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and Sketch
  • Ensure that all designs are accurate, visually appealing, and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design styles and techniques
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for design and a desire to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts or a related field required; supplemented by one year of experience in graphic arts, design or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this classification is to create and produce art, graphics and publications for an assigned department.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Designs a variety of marketing and promotional materials and publications, including brochures, fliers, booklets, newsletters, posters, reports, highway and traffic signage, displays utilizing computerized desktop publishing and design software: designs graphics; determines lay out, format and method of design; prepares camera ready artwork and materials; updates existing materials and publications.

Creates charts and graphs for reports and publications, receives, reviews and interprets raw data; generates charts, graphs and infographics; submits to vendor for mounting and presentation.

Produces audio/visual materials: takes photographs and video for use in marketing and promotional materials; attends events and activities; chooses and edits photos and videos; maintains photo database.

Maintains inventories of supplies and equipment: ensures availability of adequate supplies to complete work activities; communicates with vendors and obtains quotes; researches and makes recommendations regarding equipment and technology purchases; prepares purchase requisitions for needed materials, equipment, and supplies.

Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation, including charts, diagrams and reports; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including annual report and flow charts; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.

Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates and maintains video cameras, digital cameras, printers/plotters and other equipment; operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Communicates with County officials, supervisor, other employees, third party service contractors, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.

Additional Functions:

May perform technical support duties to department, providing troubleshooting and end-user support, and updating hardware and software as needed.

Performs other related duties as required.

The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application.
