We are looking for a dynamic Water/Wastewater Civil CAD Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. This person will be a part of the CAD Team and will work on the design and delivery of a variety of projects both locally and nationally in one of our many offices across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Use your site civil experience of facilities relating to water, wastewater, recycled water, utility infrastructure, conveyance, and process modifications to provide engineering and environmental solutions to our clients.
  2. Produce and develop CAD drawings, understand project workflow and exercise independent judgement.
  3. Drawing elements include site layout and design for horizontal control and paving plans, grading and drainage plans, yard piping, and erosion control for water, wastewater, and recycled water projects including water transmission pipelines, sanitary sewer collection systems, tanks/reservoirs, pump stations and treatment facilities.
  4. Ability to prepare 3D models and layouts from design concepts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  5. Under general direction, perform advanced drafting and design tasks in accordance with company, client, and industry standards.
  6. Coordinate multiple, large, and/or complex projects with other engineering disciplines to assist in the delivery of construction documents meeting scope, schedule, and budget.
  7. Communicate with supervisor, senior designers, and engineers regarding task execution.
  8. Perform engineering calculations, research vendor data, and check for code compliance.
  9. Apply company software and IT tools consistently and coordinate with other project team members.
  10. Identify conflicts in design and communicate solutions with PMs.
  11. Serve as CAD Lead on mid to large-sized projects.
  12. Mentor team members on Design Delivery workflow and best practices.
  13. Review the work of others when needed prior to delivery to the internal client.

Qualifications:

  1. 7 or more years experience with site civil and pipeline plan/profile development.
  2. Ability to use various drafting design-related software including, but not limited to, AutoCAD C3D, Infraworks, ProjectWise, Bluebeam REVU, and Microsoft Products. MicroStation and OpenRoads are a plus.
  3. Adequate understanding of land surveying, code requirements, and industry standards where applicable.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of site civil and site piping engineering principles including grading, drainage, volumetric calculations, site layout, and underground utility systems.
  5. Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinary project teams in a positive and proactive manner.
  6. Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  7. Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings.

The hourly range for this position is anticipated to be $35 to $45, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
