  1. JOB SUMMARY
  • Under the supervision of CAD Manager, employee is responsible for a variety of design/drafting activities including assisting with the preparation of and/or updating of installation drawings for projects, and assisting or preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings as requested. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings, and a variety of more complex drawings (plant engineering)
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the HSE Germany headquarters office to ensure consistent documentation of the project
  • Review and understand blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation requested as needed by engineers or project managers
  • Revise and update drawings from HSE Germany headquarters for NC manufacturing / assembly floor to ensure consistent documentation of the project
  • Assist and/or prepare installation drawings, which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements (bid and submittal phase). Implement these requirements on drawings sent to the customer.
  • Become an information source on planning and design of equipment installations: equipment and plant engineering with on the job training and experience.
  • Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and /performance guarantees) for future reference as to established procedures by the CAD team.
  • Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance, PDM, etc.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

  1. WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
  • Occasional visits to customer sites may be required.
  • Occasionally perform work in the manufacturing facility (dust and noise may be present)
  • Training will take place in Germany
  1. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The 3D CAD Technician must be able to concentrate for extended periods paying close attention to detail. The 3D CAD Technician’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand if that is preference.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Consistent attendance is important to this role, to meet bid dates, and manufacturing deadlines dependent on the drawings and commitments to our vendors and customers.

  1. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Full-Time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 8 to 5pm.

  1. TRAVEL
  • Must have passport, or ability to obtain passport upon date of hire. Initial training will take place in Germany.
  • Annual or bi-annual training in Germany
  • Limited travel required to visit customer sites or tradeshows.
  1. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least 4-6 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Part modeling and detailing experience using Creo/ProEngineer 2.0-6.0 parametric software
    • Experience working with skeleton structures, assembly structures, and product design
  • Experience in equipment layout for municipal and/or industrial construction projects
  • Experience in equipment/plant layout relating to wastewater treatment facilities
  • Experience with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) software
  • Manufacturing design experience with sheet metal, fabrication, and welding CAD designs
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Germany up to twice per year

Qualifications

  • Experience with IFS software or similar experience with SAP software
  • 6-8 years of experience
