Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Inventory Planner and Management Specialist with experience in the fashion industry and a deep understanding of e-commerce. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and a proven ability to balance inventory levels, optimize stock, and ensure seamless collaboration between buying, merchandising, and operations teams. This role is critical to maintaining stock efficiency, improving turn rates, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Planning: Forecast demand and manage stock levels across multiple SKUs, ensuring that the right product is available at the right time, minimizing out-of-stock situations, and reducing excess inventory.
Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with the buying and merchandising teams to analyze sales trends, market demand, and promotional activities to build accurate sales forecasts and replenishment plans.
Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with vendors and logistics partners to ensure timely product deliveries, optimal lead times, and efficient order fulfillment.
E-commerce Optimization: Leverage data from online platforms to identify sales patterns, customer preferences, and product performance to adjust inventory strategies.
System Management: Oversee the inventory management system to ensure real-time accuracy in stock levels, reorder points, and product availability. Implement system improvements as needed.
Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on stock performance, sell-through rates, and inventory health. Present insights and recommendations for inventory improvements to cross-functional teams.
Cost Management: Monitor and control inventory costs, including purchasing, warehousing, and transportation, to ensure profitability and alignment with financial goals.
Sustainability Focus: Align inventory planning with sustainability goals by managing overproduction, deadstock, and finding creative solutions for excess inventory.
Required Skills and Software Knowledge:
Inventory Management Systems: Hands-on experience with systems such as AS400, SAP, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
E-commerce Platforms: Proficiency in Shopify and aligned e-commerce tools for managing inventory and analyzing sales data.
Analytical Tools: Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis, with proficiency in creating complex models, pivot tables, and forecasts.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Knowledge of WMS solutions for optimizing inventory movement and stock management.
Automation Tools: Familiarity with software solutions to streamline inventory processes and reporting automation.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in inventory planning or management, preferably in the fashion industry with a focus on e-commerce.
Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, inventory management software (such as AS400, NetSuite, SAP), and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento).
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of fashion retail cycles, trends, and seasonal demand fluctuations.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams (e.g., merchandising, finance, and operations) and with external partners.
Problem-Solving: Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
