Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our client's team in New York, NY. Looking for an exceptional Graphic Designer who exhibits superb problem-solving, design, concepting and production skills to tackle day-to-day assignments for Live Experiences events. Has experience working on a project from concept ideation to event production, working through a large queue of projects, moving work quickly and efficiently while also maintaining high-quality output. Will be responsible for the accuracy, quality, and development of final art files for print and digital deliverables based on existing toolkits. Must be able to effectively manage multiple active projects at once, meet tight deadlines and implement revisions thoroughly and within the time frame assigned. As a designer, one will also contribute to the broader creative vision of the team and work closely with the Creative Director, other designers, project managers, copywriters, and marketing managers to define and deliver exceptional event experiences. Experience working on live events experiences and marketing campaigns are what we are in search of. Responsibilities:
Bring a strong and sophisticated sense of design, excellent typography skills, and a deep understanding of design principles
Have impeccable attention to detail and passion for a job well done
Independently and efficiently manage your workload, with help from project managers and project management systems (Asana)
Develop and ideate concepts and bring the designs to life in production
Bring experience in pitching ideas and speaking to the creative process
Create, iterate, present, and deliver exceptional design solutions
Work within a defined but dynamic and always evolving visual/brand system
Design and edit templates such as brochures, reports, digital and printed materials, working closely with other designers who will oversee your work
Complete quick edits to prior jobs
Resize and adapt files to new specifications or media
Create and update Microsoft Word and PowerPoint templates
Develop social media assets for marketing promotions leading up to events
Efficiently execute a high volume of sales collateral projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment
Accurately make editorial revisions from the client's and proofreader's annotated PDFs and raise concerns when needed
Maintain and follow consistent server organization and file-naming conventions within existing structures and processes
Organized communication skills when owning conversations with vendors and speaking to print substrates/ samples
Experience proofing large scale print assets (press walls , step and repeats, wayfinding, dimensional logos, etc..)
Developing detailed print proof decks and guides for on site installation/ implementation
Critically thinking through multiple scales of printed graphics , small format assets all the way through to environmental application (both physical OOH and on digital content on screen)
Timely presentation & deck design when needed
Work on both PC and Mac platforms; design will be on the Mac
Communicate and collaborate globally with other designers
Be a proactive problem-solver and effective communicator
Work alongside marketing stakeholders and address feedback in a timely and thoughtful manner
Be cool under pressure, detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask
Qualifications: 5+ years experience in design concept, production and graphic design
Graphic design experience working on marketing campaigns and live events experiences
Expert knowledge of print production and digital pre-press processes
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office
Experience in photographic selection, cropping, and minor retouching is essential
Ability to mock up concepts for presentation, both digitally and physically
Strong printing/pre-press skills with the ability to create and review file image quality, color
space accuracy, and proper mechanical setup prior to releasing for final printing
Experience with Asana is a plus
Experience in Sketch, Sketch Up, and WordPress is a plus
A portfolio that demonstrates excellent design production work (marketing campaigns, event architecture design, brochures, reports, digital assets, pre-press, color)
Experience with working on in-person experiential events and marketing campaigns to promote and generate audience engagement leading up to the event
Location: New York, NY (In office a minimum of 4 days per 5 day work week.)
Duration: 9 month contract
Rate: $45/hour, W-2 Non-Exempt consultant of Crawford Group; benefits available if eligible (Our hourly ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)
