Do you love creating elegant solutions to highly complex challenges? As part of our Silicon Engineering group, you’ll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors! You’ll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. As a member of Apple’s GPU Shader Core team, you will develop power efficient, high-performance 3D graphics processor microarchitectures targeted for low power mobile devices and high-performance personal computers that are used by millions of people every day!
Description
As a GPU Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, low-power graphics IPs that meet our performance, timing, and area goals. You will explore design trade-offs while applying rigorous design principles. Additionally, you will be required to understand and collaborate to groundbreaking microarchitectural specifications to design best in class GPUs. To accomplish this, you will collaborate closely with multi-functional teams in architecture, verification, modeling, and physical design.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in GPU, CPU, or SIMD architectures
- Knowledge of System Verilog HDL
- Experience in Logic design, including knowledge of low-power techniques and timing optimizations
- BS degree and minimum of 10 years of experience
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing GPU Schedulers, Execution Units, or Caches
- Experience writing microarchitectural specifications
- Experience in hardware performance analysis and debug
- Ability to drive bring up and debug of complex designs
- Understanding of synthesis tools, timing analysis, floor planning, and the PNR flow
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl
- Ability to work well in a team in order to be productive under aggressive product schedules

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
