Northbrook Public Library seeks a Youth Services Library Assistant
Schedule: 15 hours per week; one evening a week; one weekend a month
About the Position
We are seeking a creative and team-oriented Youth Services Assistant to join our Youth Services Department.
This position is responsible for:
- Providing reference and readers advisory at a busy service desk in Youth Services.
- Assisting, developing, and leading programming for children and teens.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience working with children in a library or school setting. Applicants should have at least one year in customer service with strong public service skills, including knowledge of children and teen literature. Fluency using computers and technology is required.
