Summary:Supports the property's marketing strategies through ideation, content creation, and maintaining brand activity across a wide range of platforms. The Marketing Coordinator will contribute to revenue generation by creating engaging content, supporting sales initiatives, and assisting with digital and social media marketing activities. This role also involves the coordination of marketing assets and processes to optimize efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Website & Content Management:Assists with the upkeep of the property's website, ensuring all text, imagery, and information are accurate and up to date.
Email Marketing:Handles email marketing campaigns for the Hotel, Spa, and Food & Beverage outlets, including drafting copy, resizing images, segmenting audiences, and building campaigns in the property's CRM tool.
Social Media & Content Creation:Focus on ideation and storytelling across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Create, gather, and upload content that tells the brand's story and drives engagement. Maintain best practice documents and assist in training team members on social media content creation and usage.
Sales Support:Coordinates support for the sales efforts, including calling potential clients and partners. Assist with outreach for promotional efforts, such as BT events, trade shows, catered events, weddings, consortia, and wholesale, and provide marketing materials as needed.
Media Relations:Participates in media relations by assisting with press materials development, monitoring press coverage, and tracking results. Coordinates media stay requests and public relations-driven events on property, managing itineraries and press invitations.
Content Capture & Posting:Follows the content calendar and captures moments in real-time. Posts videos or photos with approved messaging to relevant platforms.
Event Coordination & Social Documentation:Supports event ideation, coordination, and execution with a focus on capturing content for social media and other marketing channels. Ensures all key events and moments are documented for future marketing use.
Monthly Marketing Strategy:Participates in monthly marketing strategy sessions to review recent campaigns and plan upcoming tactics for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Group Sales. Contributes creative ideas to brainstorming sessions and executes some of these initiatives.
Image Management & Resizing:Manages the uploading and organization of content in the image management system and handles image resizing for multiple purposes, including web and print.
Marketing Channel Audits:Conducts regular audits of marketing channels, including third-party listings, to ensure relevance and accuracy.
Collaboration with Revenue Teams:Act as a liaison between the marketing and revenue teams to support marketing initiatives and ensure alignment.
Creative Asset Production:Use tools like Canva and Photoshop to design flyers, collateral, and printed materials for departmental needs.
Marketing Responsibilities/Supportive Functions:
May assist with managing and overseeing photoshoots and on-site filming.
Assist with on-site signature events, ensuring proper documentation for social media and other channels.
Collaborates with influencers and supports affiliate marketing opportunities to increase brand visibility.
Builds and nurtures relationships with local partners and key vendors within the Austin market.
Qualifications (Relevant Experience, Education, and Training):
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field strongly preferred.
Requires two or more years of related marketing communications or digital marketing experience, with an emphasis on social media content creation and ideation.
Familiarity with tools like Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign is required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage projects and coordinate media activities.
Ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal formats, with strong presentation skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office applications and a willingness to learn new systems as needed.
Special Skills & Abilities/Mental and Physical Demands:
The Team Member will regularly sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk when interacting with customers or presenting information. Must exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to move objects, such as marketing materials. Team Members will need close visual acuity to operate computers and check the quality of marketing assets. Team Members must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. This position may require working on holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts to meet business needs.
