Position Summary:
Assists Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing in executing overall marketing initiatives and objectives. Works closely with Director of Marketing to collaborate on social media, digital marketing, website, public relations and customer relationship marketing. Manages photo library, participates/leads on-property marketing events, maintains print and digital collateral, contributes content for monthly Bay Window Magazine. Collaborates with Director of Marketing on developing the annual objective plan/expense budget. Must be an effective and organized Project Manager. Must have an ability to learn new technology platforms.

The team member occasionally grasps objects such as presentation materials. The team member frequently talks when communicating with current or potential clients and staff. The team member frequently needs to hear voices while interacting with potential customers, members, guests, and staff. Many aromas and smells are present in the dining areas. Exerts up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects such as sales materials. The team member is required to have close visual acuity to operate a computer. The team member is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the marketing and sales materials and contracts.
The team member is primarily subject to environmental conditions found working inside the property. The team member is occasionally subject to loud noise (or music) when working in or around the property. The team member is occasionally subject to atmospheric condition such as fumes, odors, or dusts.

- Social Media:
Strong working knowledge of social media platforms, their audiences, and industry best-practices across various platforms and social communities including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Assists in the development and posting of all content (i.e., text, photos, videos, etc.) to these channels in an effort inspire participation in club and resort events and amenities. Ability to implement social strategy based on departmental and revenue goals; maintain postings; and work with Marketing Manager and Marketing Director and/or outside agency to analyze insights for successes and missed opportunities. Creates social media content calendar. - Email Marketing:
Responsible for assisting with email marketing campaigns, while adhering to industry best-practices and brand guidelines. Ability to analyze successes and strategize opportunities for future growth. Maintain email databases. - Website/Mobile App:
Handles day-to-day website and mobile application management via a content management system, ensuring all text, imagery, promotions, and events, are accurate and up to date. In conjunction with our digital agency, design or redesign website/mobile app pages and content when necessary to ensure all is accurate and user friendly for all club members. Ensures that the websites and mobile app are ADA compliant. For the Balboa Bay Club, find new ways to engage with members through the website and mobile app including but not limited to, downloadable photos from past events, easy print flyers for upcoming events, and current club/resort promotions. - Content Creation:
Creates visual content that will increase awareness and positive perception of the resort, club, restaurants, spa, Drybar, marina, fitness center and events to maximize revenue, profitability, and participation. - Collateral:
Responsible for assisting in the creation of collateral from conception to execution and distribution. Collaborates with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to ensure the content and design is accurate, clear, and concise. Assists with photo shoots. - Events:
Enthusiastically assists and participates in the creation, promotion, and execution of events. Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, schedule flexibility is required. - Administrative:
Assists with departmental administrative needs where necessary. Maintain a marketing calendar to ensure that all Resort and Club initiatives supported by the Marketing Department are included. Manage purchase orders, invoice tracking and expense reporting. Participates in marketing strategy sessions to recap recent campaigns as well as collaborating on strategy and tactics to generate revenue for food & beverage, spa & recreation, retail, group, corporate and wedding business. Contribute to brainstorming sessions and execute some of the initiatives. Submit performance reporting as requested.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in marketing, creative design, communications, hospitality, or related field desired.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills backed with a creative spark.
- Thorough understanding and experience managing social media platforms.
- Experience and working knowledge of customer relationship marketing and content management system platforms.
- Experience and understanding of Google Analytics, digital advertising statistics, and social media insights.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Canva, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Interest in learning or ability to analyze data to influence marketing strategies.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Flexible team player with strong work ethic.
- Always presents a clean appearance and professional demeanor.
- Maintains respectful and professional relationship with colleagues, third-party consultants, vendors, and partners, while adhering to Forbes standards.
- Three or more years of related hospitality marketing experience a plus
- Awareness of current events and market competition.
- Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Must be able to solve problems and remain calm and alert if dealing with a difficult guest, during busy activity periods or in an emergency.
