Position Summary
This is a part-time position which may be refined over time. We anticipate 20-25 hours per week. The day-to-day schedule can be flexible, depending on candidate needs. We have an updated website and digital marketing platform, and email campaign for lead generation. An external marketing agency service contractor currently maintains and manages web-based lead generation. The Marketing Specialist will be the principal responsibility for this effort. As marketing is a fluid industry, we would hope to hire a candidate that can review our processes and offer proposed campaign updates and recommendations to improve traffic and performance. Also, the Marketing Specialist will manage and execute several additional activities on a day-to-day basis.
We host an annual client conference, having about 50-60 attendees. With some guidance, the Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning the event, the “Plant Engineer’s Forum for Nonmetallics”, a two-day event with multiple sponsors, presenters, and two hospitality events. Including all of the advance planning and marketing, event planning is a significant part of this position.
The ideal candidate should be tech savvy and able to handle multiple web-based programs and integrations. The applicant should be self-motivated, energetic, and should demonstrate initiative and the ability to work self-directed once priorities are identified and explained. Writing content for all of our media platforms and coordinating event activities are common, so an outgoing personality and strong communications skills are needed.
Our dress code is casual attire demonstrating a clean and neat presentation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with external website developer for on-going enhancement of the website.
- Manage all areas of event planning and execution for our annual client conference event.
- Use WordPress for basic additions to the website, such as job or event postings.
- Manage social media networking sites including LinkedIn, marketing distributions, and blogs for the company.
- Write copy for social media posts, event announcements, surveys, and additional promotional materials.
- Manage and implement the company’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) Program, ActiveCampaign.
- Develop email distributions, follow-ups, and automations for event announcements, webinars, surveys, and lead generation activities.
- Plan and coordinate Maverick’s annual conference event, the Plant Engineer’s Forum, including setting up the event, securing sponsors, sending out notices, signage, program, end of forum surveys and certificates of completion.
- Order and maintain inventory of marketing supplies and promotional products.
- Assist the sales team in preparing for trade shows and conventions.
- Prepare Eblasts distributions for active campaigns, newsletter & recent blogs, and follow-up communications to clients and prospective clients.
- Manage reviews on Google and across other sites.
- Review and manage google website and search analytics and google ad analytics.
- As we are a small office, we all wear many hats, miscellaneous administrative activities to support the broader organizational effort are needed from time to time.
Requirements
- At least a 4-year degree in Marketing, Communications or Business-related curriculum is required.
- Must possess excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Creativity and analytical skills sufficient to understand a technical service offering are necessary.
- Must have a sound working knowledge of social media networking sites.
- Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and be resourceful.
- Must maintain professional attitude and be able to maintain complete confidentiality on all company matters.
