Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, and part of the commercial team, the Marketing Manager is responsible for managing both the upstream and downstream marketing activities for all ImprimisRx portfolios. You'll primarily focus on establishing long-term product strategy, including developing and executing annual marketing campaigns, managing advisory boards and conference activities, planning and coordinating the tactics for the ImprimisRx portfolios, and supporting the achievement of revenue targets with the sales team. This role will be instrumental in market assessment, will plan and attend various industry tradeshows, coordinate educational programs, and identifying cross selling opportunities to fill the sales funnel.
To be successful in this role you will need to be creative, work with a sense of urgency, understand expectations, and always maintain focus on the changing priorities. You will collaborate with functional departments, determine effective positioning and delivery of client-facing materials including social media content and placement, sales tool content creation, evaluating brand analytics and identify new business processes solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial team members to align and compliantly execute key tactical activities
- Develop and manage brand plan for ImprimisRx portfolios and provide input and support on key messaging
- Lead project scope for qualitative and quantitative market data/research to continually gain a deeper understanding of the customer, brands and market
- Work with PRC to ensure all materials are properly developed and put through regulatory approvals
- Maintains up-to-date product and industry knowledge by regular review of the literature, co-traveling with field sales personnel, and attending local conferences
- Develop content and provide creative direction for all sales tools, advertisements, and conference exhibits
- Understand customer behavior and deliver relevant messaging through various marketing channels
- Understand the patient journey and develop tools to assist them through the purchase process
- Identify ways to communicate to patients to encourage a referral network
- Execute and monitor annual budget for all conference activities, ad boards, consulting, and marketing materials
- Provide proactive creative ideas to continue to drive awareness for ImprimisRx portfolios
- Ability to set up drip/nurture campaigns in Pardot with approved materials to ensure consistent engagement with our customers
- Partner and support development of public relations strategy by develop key opinion leader relationships
- Utilize relevant data from existing CRM to drive new marketing initiatives, track progress, and report results
- Develop monthly dashboards and metrics to closely monitor initiatives and sales activities and be able to interpret them into key action items
- Evaluate ongoing campaigns and propose new ways to boost sales and new opportunities
- Create impactful marketing collateral by working with outside freelancers to execute upon product strategy
- Plan and participate in industry tradeshows
- Communicate frequently with field sales reps to understand how to build better tools
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry key opinion leaders, activities include creating presentations, site-visits, attendance of show and conferences, inquiry handling, study support and quarterly advisory boards etc.
- Identify and turn brand insights into actionable programs that have a beneficial impact on the growth of the business
- Collaborate closely with and stay actively engaged in future pipeline discussions and identify market potential, establish pricing and market strategies
- Stay solution-focused and positively suggest product improvements and innovation
- Coordinate activities with internal and external partners/vendors to support and ensure the effective implementation of marketing plans/tactics
- Become an advocate for our customers and understand how we can better communicate and serve them
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work and education in the ophthalmology field required
- Minimum 5 years' related experience in marketing or product management, pharmaceuticals preferred
- Experience with Adobe Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, a plus
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and build product forecasts
- Deliver compelling presentations in Powerpoint
- Ability to create and deliver executive materials for decision making
- Experience in developing marketing / brand plans
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Ability to think creatively in confronting new issues and provide novel solutions
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise sound business judgement with critical thinking skills and high ethical standards, while being a team player
- Solid independent judgment and initiative required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write effective customer and field sales communications
- Needs to be a self-starter that can work with little direction
- Ability to multitask, adjusting priorities as needed
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in standard MS Office software products, including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to become proficient with Salesforce, Pardot, Wrike and Tableau, a plus
- Familiarity working with web/print media platforms required
- Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
- Ability to drive a car and possess a valid driver's license
