Media & Event Specialist
The Media & Event Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events of The Women’s Care Center. The Media & Event Specialist is also responsible for all printed materials related to the provision of agency services and the promotion of events. This is a permanent, full-time position according to a regular schedule established by the Executive Director. The Media & Event Specialist will demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with professional Christian ethics.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan and oversee all aspects of the annual Celebrate Life Banquet including media design of advertising, promotion, reports, power points, and video presentations; assistance with programming; underwriting requests; and liaison with facility regarding banquet set up and menu.
- Plan and oversee all aspects of the annual Walk For Life including media design of advertising, promotion, and recruitment materials; registration of participants; soliciting for prizes and donations; outreach to local organizations for team participation; coordination of set up and tear down for event.
- Provide promotional advertising for Erie Gives Day including social media, postcards, website, and assistance with online donations.
- Design/create print media including promotional and informational materials related to the provision of services and The Women’s Care Center events.
- Design advertisement layouts for all divisions of The Women’s Care Center.
- Coordinate the production of the Quarterly Newsletter through design layout, writing, printing, and mailing in collaboration with other staff members.
- Create power points as requested for seminars, trainings and events.
- Develop and maintain internal written communications including agency forms, staff lists, manuals, and business cards.
- Use design knowledge and experience to create clear and engaging photos and materials that effectively meet the goals of the organization
- Post updates and news worthy submissions on social media.
- Provide annual tax statement letters to donors
- Design and create the annual Christmas card
- Coordinate the mailing of the End of Year letter
- Answer incoming telephone calls from rollover line
- Assist the Executive Director as requested
Job Requirements
The Media & Event Specialist must possess strong interpersonal and writing skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with churches, community organizations, and other staff members. This position requires an individual that can participate in the exchange of ideas within a teamwork atmosphere. The Media & Event Specialist must value the importance of meeting established deadlines and possess a meticulous attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of media equipment including computers, cameras, recorders, and audio equipment is necessary to fulfill the job requirements.
Education and Experience
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Public Relations is preferred. Two years of employment experience in a non-profit or social service agency is preferred.

Women’s Care Center Education Division – Providing character-based, relationship education through our CARE model in K-12 schools and beyond.
