Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Global Marketing, the Social Media Manager (the manager) will be responsible for developing and implementing the firms social media strategy to increase online presence and improve marketing and business development efforts. The manager will work closely with the marketing and business development department and firm lawyers to align digital content with the firm's expertise, values, and strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a cohesive social media strategy that aligns with the firms marketing goals and the needs of our lawyers.
- Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Threads, to highlight the firm's expertise and thought leadership.
- Monitor social media trends and leverage them to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Collaborate with the marketing and business development team and attorneys to create bold, innovative social media campaigns that position our lawyers as trusted advisors.
- Measure the success of social media activities using analytical tools and provide reports on ROI and performance metrics to guide future strategies.
- Ensure state-of-the-art social media infrastructure, staying up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
- Uphold and reinforce the firm's people-oriented behaviors by engaging with the community, responding to comments, and fostering a positive online environment.
- Manage social media advertising campaigns and budgets.
- Train and guide other business support team members on best practices for social media engagement and content creation.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to online communications and advertising.
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES:
- Ability to distill and communicate key messages rapidly and succinctly.
- Aptitude for crafting engaging content.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal affairs and client matters.
- Interacts comfortably with all members of the firm.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive marketing experience.
- Proven work experience, minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in social media.
- Strong people and project management skills.
- Excellent copywriting, editing, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with web design is a plus.
- Strong understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, and SEO.
- Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional service environment.
- Knowledge of the legal industry and its regulations regarding marketing is a plus.
Compensation and Total Rewards Package:
Ropes & Gray is proud to offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our business support team members. The firm also offers comprehensive health and well-being benefits, personal and professional development, career growth opportunities and a collegial and supportive culture. The anticipated pay range for this role is $105,000 - $158,000 in NY, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
Working Conditions:
This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
