Summary/Objective

The Digital Media Trainee will contribute to the Blue Wahoos social media, marketing, and creative services departments by filming and editing videos to promote Blue Wahoos games and events and contributing to team social media accounts. This position will play a key role in capturing and producing engaging content for distribution on various mediums including team social media, BlueWahoos.com, stadium in-game presentation, and advertising. The role will also help execute team social media goals on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, both creating and posting content during games.

Essential Functions
  • Film and edit videos highlighting the team, player stories, community initiatives, and stadium events.
  • Help manage team's online presence, contributing video content on all major social medias to tell the team's story to fans in creative and engaging ways.
  • Capture the overall gameday experience at Blue Wahoos Stadium on and off the field to help the team create engaging content to share their industry-leading, award-winning fan experience and drive ticket sales.
  • Quickly edit highlight clips during games to be shared on team social media accounts. Compile game highlight compilations for distribution to media and publication on BlueWahoos.com.
  • Assist in the creation of content calendars and digital campaigns, working with the Communications and Creative Services Departments to plan the team's social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Organize and archive video assets produced by the team.
  • Assist with the day-to-day duties of the Blue Wahoos Communications Department.
  • Attend and assist with Blue Wahoos Stadium events including non-baseball and pre-season events at the stadium.
  • Attend Wahoos University and other professional development opportunities offered by the Studer Family of Companies.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Proficient in video production techniques utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud.

2. Experience filming content on video devices including mobile phones and broadcast cameras.

3. Knowledge and skill in social media content creating with an emphasis on TikTok and Instagram Reels.

4. Creativity and willingness to bring new ideas to continue to grow team's reach within the community.

5. Strong teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently and self-motivate.

6. Strong time management and organizational skills.

7. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced gameday environment.

8. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.

9. Ability to pull tarp and other manual labor duties.

10. Adherence to company standards of behavior.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time seasonal position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and the use of standard office equipment including computers.
