Overview:
Studio McGee is seeking a highly driven Social Media Director with 7+ years of experience to join our fast-paced team. The Social Media Director will oversee our social media department, which involves managing and leading a team of community assistants and content creators, while also driving social media strategy to achieve key performance goals. The ideal candidate will partner with the SVP/VP regularly and be responsible for leading the team to overcome challenges with innovative and creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the social media department for both Studio McGee and McGee & Co., ensuring effective hiring, performance management, strategy development, and goal attainment.
- Develop and execute social media strategies to grow Studio McGee’s brand awareness & engagement across social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. The comprehensive strategy should align with the brand ethos and business objectives of Studio McGee and McGee & Co.
- Lead a team of social media managers, content creators, and community assistants - providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve department goals.
- Partner with senior leadership and various departments to drive innovative social media initiatives and campaigns.
- Foster a collaborative and creative environment that encourages team members to share ideas and experiment with new content formats and trends.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven decisions. Report on monthly and weekly metrics to leadership team.
- Support all content pillars of Studio McGee, Inc. and McGee & Co. in an organized and efficient manner.
- Develop unique content themes that align with Studio McGee’s Signature Aesthetic and establish McGee & Co. as a trusted authority in the design industry.
- Promote Studio McGee’s Design Services to establish the company as a high-end design studio and increase inquiries.
- Incorporate more real-time, underproduced content.
- Identify and implement monetization strategies across all social media channels, establishing both brands as social shopping destinations.
- Engage with the audience on a personal level through timely, responsive, and educational content.
- Leverage social media content to drive traffic and monetization.
- Manage evergreen and partner deliverables with greater intentionality.
- Gather and distribute UGC across all marketing channels to build trust and create an audience-first image.
- Create and maintain channel-specific strategies and calendars, reacting to audience feedback with timely content.
- Increase engagement and build relationships through shoppable entertainment.
- Leverage data from each platform to influence content and creator collaborations.
- Collaborate with the video, design, and creative teams to give social input on video content that lives on both YouTube and social channels.
- Stay in the loop of industry trends, social media innovations, and best practices, ensuring Studio McGee remains a leader in the home space and disseminating trends cross-functionally.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Social Media Director or similar role, overseeing a social media department and driving strategy.
- Deep expertise in creating and managing content for TikTok and Instagram.
- Strong video editing skills and a passion for creating engaging video content.
- Excellent understanding of social media trends and platform-specific best practices.
- Experience with brand management and aligning content with brand ethos.
- Ability to think creatively and experiment with new content ideas.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to partner effectively with senior leadership and drive innovative solutions.
- Kind, compassionate, and empathetic, valuing collaboration across departments.
- Proven success record on TikTok and understanding of platform trends and nuances.
- Experience using social platforms and project management tools like Asana is a plus but not mandatory.
- Nice to have: experience related to interior design or lifestyle industries.
