Job Description
Job Summary: The Media Account Executive role is responsible for SELLING all Refuel Agency media assets and markets (college, military, and multicultural) as well as experiential campaigns to prospective clients and agencies throughout the US. The right person must have the ability to build a client base and cultivate new business. The job requires an initiative-taking and driven individual. Previous Media Sales experience is a MUST!!
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
Generate new sales for refuel agency
- Research information on decision makers
- Supply client with research and data
- Present proposed media plans
- Utilize sales closing techniques to win business
Prospect qualified leads and pursue new business
- Research trade magazines
- Contact competitor’s accounts
Reinforce and expand the Refuel brand within the marketplace
- Present all new research and data to all prospects
- Supply innovative marketing materials to clients
Create media plans based on client budget criteria
- Gather details of client’s media needs
- Communicate with all media divisions on constructing plan
Prepare all estimates/proposals for new business pitches
- Present media plan to client
Manage all aspects of the planning, buying and billing process
- Communicate daily with all divisions of the company to meet client needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited institution with concentration in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field or applicable job experience
- Two plus years of experience with demonstrated success selling newspaper, out-of-home, and/or radio and broadcast sales is necessary
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
- Ability to compile and analyze market and financial data for effective decision making
- Ability to create demand for spending in targeted consumer segments including youth, military, multicultural and local audiences
- Ability to develop custom solutions tailored to client needs
- Ability to research, and understand the customer's perspective and their competitive options
- Agency and client relationships and contacts that are current and relevant to Refuel business
- Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/salesforce.com
- Comprehensive knowledge of media and advertising industry
- Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals and plans
- Strong public speaking, oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional negotiation skills
Job Requirements:
- Some travel may be required
- Seasonality of the business may require additional work hours
- The applicant selected for this position may be required to successfully complete a background check. Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position
