Student Housing is a self-funded, large and complex campus department consisting of 6 housing communities and 3 support units, with more than 280 staff employees, 300-400 student employees and an annual operating budget of $120 million. Student Housing provides housing for approximately 9,000 undergraduates, graduate students and their families in over 250 buildings and approximately 3.3 million sq. ft.
Currently, Student Housing houses 51% of UCI's enrolled students (in conjunction with American Campus Communities, UCI's 3rd party housing partner) with a goal of housing 60% as part of the campus Long Range Development Plan. Student Housing also provides maintenance and repair services to student residents.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent provides technical leadership and expertise in marketing, media strategy, and media production, using skills to perform the full range of marketing activities, including developing and implementing promotional strategies, materials and products designed to promote awareness within the campus and to prospective students and the general public. Supports Housing Outreach and Residence Life operations with marketing assets featuring Student Housing facilities and programs. Responsible for developing graphics to support the UCI Housing brand and reputation as a student-focused campus leader, supporting the academic success and well-being of on-campus residents.
Responsible for formulating strategy, developing and implementing marketing policies and protocols, and training Housing staff on their use. The incumbent oversees content development and quality control, including maintaining consistency within brand guidelines. Design and production of compelling photography and videography, and management of Housing social media platforms are central to this role. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, as this position is highly collaborative and must articulate new concepts and ideas. The position requires the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively and to collaborate with campus partners to evaluate, strategize and complete communications/creative briefs to begin the process of executing projects. Has a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; works independently to manage a wide range of issues, aligning outcomes to department and campus priorities.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $77,000- $84,700 (Annual).
Required:
- Thorough knowledge of Student Housing and the UCI campus, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, and current initiatives and priorities.
- Thorough knowledge of the campus products and services.
- Thorough analytical and written communication skills.
- Advanced technical knowledge of web and media promotion and production including website design and development, photography and video design and production and social media.
- Thorough knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills.
- Strong skills in event and media activities management.
- Skill in mentoring less experienced staff.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable campus and policies and state and federal laws pertaining to marketing and advertising issues and concerns and other related policies or laws.
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, techniques and applications relevant to the field of promotion and advertising.
- Advanced skills in developing, designing and implementing creative promotional and advertising strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- 3 5 years marketing strategy and implementation
