Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. Overall Responsibility:
The primary responsibility of the Studio Engineer / Multimedia Producer is to empower Food For The Poor’s radio hosts to tell stories about our mission, staff, donors and the families we serve in developing countries. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
- The top priority is to ensure Radio Team fund raising efforts run smoothly. This requires an advanced knowledge of how to operate tech in radio, tv and podcast control rooms, an acute awareness of deadlines and the ability to troubleshoot tech issues in-house and on our radio partner’s side.
- The Studio Engineer / Multimedia Producer must be capable of operating studio and field gear including cameras (PTZ and traditional), microphones, soundboards and maintaining Food For The Poor’s studio equipment and field gear.
- Multimedia production skills are a huge plus. The ability to tell a story; write a script, shoot photos, video and edit are very useful. Create engaging content for use on FFTP’s social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, podcasts, etc.
Duties:
The Studio Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all the components of the Radio / Podcast Studio. Participating in preliminary testing ahead of campaigns (testing connections, verifying credentials) and providing real-time support throughout the duration of the events (operating the audio console, video system, and telecommunication equipment). Studio technology maintenance 30%
- Editing preproduced audio and video packages for Radio Team on tight deadlines. 10%
- Maintenance of the FFTP Studio, upkeep of cameras, microphones, hardware, wiring, lights, switchers, soundboards, computers, and computer software. 10%
- Produce live and prerecorded content in FFTP studios for multiple platforms. This includes prepping the studio, testing cameras and mics before production. Directing camera shots during production, monitoring audio, operating teleprompter. 25%
- Produce audio and video content in the field for multiple platforms. This includes still photography, video and editing content. 5%
- Produce audio and video for live assemblies. 10%
- Postproduction duties include rendering audio and video, uploading to social media and archiving content. 5%
- Interdepartmental collaboration: working with in-house clients during all phases of production to develop ideas and deliver content on time. 5%
Education and Experience:
- At least 5-years of radio studio engineering experience.
- A degree in studio, A/V and/or web production is preferred but not required.
- Experience with live streaming is strongly preferred.
- Video production and still photography experience are a huge plus.
- News experience is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. French, Creole and other languages also a plus.
- This is not entry level.
