Job Title: Director of Music Accompanist

Location: Kings Bay, GA

Job Summary: Provide inspirational music in support of the Command Religious Programs (CRP) and professional recommendations for the musical program to the presiding chaplain or Civilian Religious Ministry Provider (CRMP).

Duties:
  • Assist the Command chaplain in support of Commander's Religious Program.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and administration for the Catholic and Protestant musical program.
  • Accomplish administrative requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Musical direction for both Protestant and Roman Catholic worship services.
  • Accompaniment for the rendition of music required during worship services, including prelude music, calls to worship, congregational singing, offertories, postludes, and other music as required by the respective chaplain.
  • Provide in a timely manner to the CRP Leading Petty Officer any needed repair and improvements of the government owned piano, keyboards, and related equipment in the Chapel.
  • Assist with planning for the musical support of the CRP worship services, including written requests for securing musical equipment, musical scores, supplies, and other required material to the chapel office.
  • Coordinate and consult with the officiating chaplain concerning the selection of all choral selections, choruses, hymns, and other music utilized in the worship service.


Qualifications:

  • Must be musicians with the requisite skills of a pianist and experience acceptable to lead a variety of religious worship services.
  • Must be able to sight read music and direct other musicians and vocalists in four-part musical scores.
  • Must have a working understanding of Navy organization and the pluralistic ministry requirements that affect the use of chapel facilities and staff.
  • Targeted, job-related education with study in a job-related area.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and certificate of performance or music education.
  • Position-related experience is required.
