In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.

The music notation specialist assistant provides notation support to the Music Notation Specialist and to the Course Developers Team at Berklee POPP, In the production of online courses for Berklee Online.

The student is expected to be detail-oriented, prompt, and comfortable with various software, in addition to having strong communication skills and an eagerness to learn.

Job Responsibilities include
  • Using Dorico software for multiple notation purposes (ability to notate tab, to work with multiple staves, and multiple instrumentation, such as orchestral scores)
  • Transcribing music from audio and/or video sources to create notation to be used in courses
  • Using Finale Musescore to create/export notation files and XML files
  • Editing audio files using any DAW editor software such as Logic Pro or SoundForge
  • Using Google Suite | Google Drive and Google Sheet
  • Proofing text and multimedia content to ensure they are error-free
  • Multi-tasking several project at the same time
  • Collaborate closely with the Music Notation Specialist and the Course Developers Team to ensure music notation meets course objectives and adheres to Berklee Online style guidelines.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, communicating clearly and proactively to ensure smooth workflow and successful project completion.
