School of Rock is the original performance-based, interactive music school founded in 1998 in Philadelphia. With over 300 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider.
The School of Rock Little Wing and Rookies Instructor creates a warm, supportive and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 4-7. School of Rock's Little Wing and Rookies programs encourage young children to reach developmental milestones through fun musical activities and learning about different rock and roll musical instruments. The Instructor is responsible for all music and education-related elements within the lesson and creates a dynamic experience to ensure their students are challenged and inspired. The Instructor embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience.
We teach five core areas at School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.

Music Instruction:
- Maximize the quality of music instruction
- Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
- Create and document thoughtful and fun lesson plans
Customer Connection:
- Communicate regularly with parents on the progress of students
- Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
- Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
Skill Requirements:
- 4 years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally. Experience in early childhood education preferred
- Has a passion for and/or experience working with children age seven (7) and under.
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers
- Very strong customer relations skills on the phone and in person. Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and ability to lesson plan
- Resourceful and good problem-solver
- Works well under pressure
- Good judgment is a must
- Passion for teaching
