While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands from wrist to finger, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and reach with hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Walking to and from multiple school building to escort students to and from classes when needed. Many buildings do include multiple flights of stairs that will need to be navigated when walking with students.

Reports to: Director of Lovett Conservatory of Music
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teaches specific instruction on instrument of expertise
- Carries out all responsibilities associated with teaching in the Lovett Conservatory of Music
- Collaborates with the appropriate ensemble directors (Lower, Middle, and Upper School) to ensure that lessons support the curriculum
- Participates in department, faculty, team, and grade-level meetings as called
- Ensures that students adhere to The Lovett School behavioral guidelines
- Fulfills additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor of Music Degree or Professional Experience, Master of Music preferred
- Significant professional playing experience
- The flexibilityto accommodate The Lovett School's rotating schedule during the school day, and/or availability to teach before or after regular school hours, as well as possess the resources to teach virtually.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors
- Employment of a variety of techniques, including the meaningful use of technology, to engage students and further their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity
